Here are a couple of 'in progress' photos of my August journal quilt. I have prepared the flags, layered the fabric, sewn an outline of Africa and cut back to reveal the flags. I took this photo to help me decide on the layout of the newspaper articles around it.

Liz, are you treating the paper with gesso or similiar product before stitching it into the quilt?
