I did some fabric painting yesterday. This is inspired by the macro photo of the tulip (see February archives). It is much brighter than the photo has turned out.
Thanks, Arlee and Lisa! It's meant for a journal quilt but it'll probably be too big... it's about 11 x 20 inches. It's acrylic paint on calico. The ironic thing is that it took all of about 5 minutes! I'd just done a more abstract one on silk with fabric paints, mostly zigzags reflecting the colours rather than the shape, and I wasn't happy with either, so I got my acrylics out, sloshed around happily for a few minutes and there it is! That seems to be the way I work - the more care I take over things, the less it works out... and vice versa, luckily!
Hello! I'm a textile artist based in the UK. My main blog is at http://www.lizplummer.com/blog but I set up a new one to encourage me to take at least one photo each day.

Love this, Liz, tulips rock! How big is this piece? Can see some fine free motion on it!
WoW! You're really great at fabric painting. I never seem to have much luck with it. Love the tulip!
