The bus ride to Chepstow took us down the Wye Valley, which is a very beautiful area. Thickly wooden hills lead steeply down to the river Wye, apparently one of the cleanest rivers in Wales. The Cistercians obviously appreciated it - this is Tintern Abbey, now ruined. William Wordsworth wrote a poem about it - see here.

Thank you so much for showing the beautiful pictures of Wales. I had a dear friend from Wales who lived near us when we lived in Bahrain. Your pictures made me think of her. And I'll bet you take all those gorgeous sights for granted...
