It's half term this week so I haven't got much time to post, so I thought I'd just put on a few pictures of interesting perspectives on things. I learnt to look for these when I was doing the design part of my City & Guilds course in patchwork & quilting.

These are roof tiles in case you haven't guessed. I think I took these while visiting the papermill at Wookey Hole caves in Somerset (the documentation of my photos isn't very efficient!).

LOL, Liz. You should see all the pix I have of sidewalk grates, escalator stairs to the tube in London, and all kinds of other crazy things.

I agree about my fabric looking like cave paintings. Always a surprise!

Papermaking is on my 'to learn' list. Looks like fun!

When I did my C&G, we had to do all sorts of rubbings and stuff like that of anything with unusual textures... grates, stones anything... I still eye them up as I walk along. I've obviously got in the habit of doing it.

I was once caught by a neighbour painting an outside air vent on our house so I could get a print of it. We live in a Victorian house full of very decorative things like that!
