Rusting fabric
Following discussions on the Quiltart list I have been tying fabric round rusty screws, twisting other fabric round a rusty screwdriver and laying more rusty things onto yet more fabric. Apparently you have to soak the fabric in a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water so the house now stinks of the stuff! Watch this space... I had great fun raiding my husband's workroom in his absence!

I'm totally fascinated with this idea too and can't wait to try it--ah to have kept all those old sheets that hung on the line too long with rusty clothespins those many years ago....:>
