Close Up
Here is a close up. I'm not sure what to do next - I might layer it and quilt it from the back with a thicker thread in the bobbin along the gridlines. Or maybe not...

I like this. It yells autumn to me and reminds me of drain covers. Why not stitch some heavier gold cord over some of the grid lines and then applique the odd leaf or two to represent leaves caught in the grid of the drain cover. Well that's how I see it anyway! Grin!
Very interesting--love the whole recycling idea and the freeform within a form. How about adding some old buttons? or a touch of trim?
