I like this. It yells autumn to me and reminds me of drain covers. Why not stitch some heavier gold cord over some of the grid lines and then applique the odd leaf or two to represent leaves caught in the grid of the drain cover. Well that's how I see it anyway! Grin!
Very interesting--love the whole recycling idea and the freeform within a form. How about adding some old buttons? or a touch of trim?
