Hi Liz, I was going to respond privately, but you don't seem to have an email address posted on your blog...
Anyway the fire piece is way cool! I threw out the one I made in the Elements class. It just didn't work for me. I loved learning the new techniques in that class, but the style just wasn't me. How do you feel about it?
I've put my email addy in my profile now - I didn't previously because I was worried about spam but I'll see how it goes...
Thanks for your comment about my fire piece. I really enjoyed this one - I think that fusing and layering is my thing. I really seem to enjoy that and raw edge applique so maybe I'll develop that side of things, at least till I get bored of it!
I'm the same as you - I have really enjoyed learning the techniques but I prefer a more abstract way of working. But I liked the way she taught us to layer and work downwards, getting closer and closer to the foreground, in this piece.
I don't seem to have got the hang of the clouds one at all, though!
Do email me if you want to chat further about it ...
Hello! I'm a textile artist based in the UK. My main blog is at http://www.lizplummer.com/blog but I set up a new one to encourage me to take at least one photo each day.
